Ace Order: The Small Rule that Changes a Comparison

Keep the category and ordering convention separate.

Two recognisable sequences

A♥ K♥ Q♥ and A♣ 2♣ 3♣ are both pure sequences. The category does not settle their relative order without an Ace convention. Our profile puts A-K-Q first; another published profile can put A-2-3 first.

Write the convention once

Place the order on the same sheet as the category chart. If you quote an example, keep the convention with it. Avoid describing a chosen house rule as a universal rule for every app or table.

Do not wrap the ranks

K-A-2 is not a sequence under this teaching profile. It combines the high and low use of Ace instead of forming one consecutive three-card line.

Ask the precise question

If a comparison surprises you, ask which Ace order is in use before assuming the category was misread. The ranking page explains our choice and the boundary of the classifier.
